Brothers united in support of War Horse Memorial

Meet Otto and Viktor Lazar, our first Young Ambassadors. These caring brothers are interested in the work we do to support animal and military charities and want to get involved. Both former pupils at Papplewick School, Ascot, they plan to promote our cause among their friends by selling our purple poppy pin badges, locally and at their respective schools in Dorset and Worcestershire. 

Viktor Lazar

Viktor, (above left) is 16 years old and goes to Bryanston School, in Dorset. He is starting his A Levels this September studying; Art, DT & Business Studies. Viktor says: “I love animals, particularly horses and dogs, and I’m passionate about ensuring animals receive the respect and admiration for the part they have played, and continue to play, in our lives and history. I’m excited about this appointment as an Ambassador for War Horse Memorial and will use my efforts to bring awareness of its charitable work.

Viktor’s hobbies include; horse riding, cricket, sailing and navigation, amateur geology, painting and product design. 

Otto Lazar  

Otto is 17 and attends Malvern College, in Worcestershire. He will complete his A levels this year in Art, Geography and Business Studies. Otto is also passionate about animals and enjoys horse riding. He says: “Animals have always played an important part in our lives and I believe they will continue to play an important role in the future, too. I’m thrilled at being appointed an Ambassador for War Horse Memorial and will use this new found role to promote the welfare and care of animals worldwide.”

Otto’s hobbies include; rugby, tennis and sailing, He is a member of the Royal Marines CCF, a member of the School Council, House Leadership Team, Debating Society and the Law Society.

Alan Carr MBE co-founder of the War Horse Memorial says he’s delighted to welcome Otto and Viktor to the team. “’Poppy’ is dedicated to the horses, mules and donkeys who gave service and sacrifice in the First World War. We have a growing army of volunteers prepared to give their time and energy to help us support our good causes by selling purple poppy pin badge and knitted poppies. These young brothers are kind and compassionate and determined to play their part. We couldn’t ask for better young ambassadors and we hope that others will follow Otto and Viktor’s example.”
