Singer songwriter Chloe Jones, from Dukinfield, is celebrating the release of her latest single ‘Damsel’, inspired she says by her recent trip to Guatemala City, and she sings this, and exclusively for our concert, her arrangement of the classic “2000 Miles” a song written and released by The Pretenders in 1983 which has become a seasonal favourite. Chloe, who is 27 and comes from Manchester, describes ‘Damsel‘ as a mix of folk, country and Americana with lots of story-telling. The accomplished performer, whose vocals are accompanied by a pedal steel guitar, says that travelling inspires her to write stories through her music, with this single being based on her trip to the South American country as a woman alone and the contrast she felt from her life at home surrounded by her friends.
Chloe featured on the Voice UK last year which was a major change for the independent artist, as she explained she had to allow the show to control every aspect of her music. She says she’s pleased to be able to share her talent with a new War Horse Memorial audience, and is delighted to be part of such a wonderful Christmas concert line up.
‘Damsel’ is the first single to come from Chloe’s upcoming EP, due for release in 2021 and is available to listen to on all major streaming platforms.
