Coworth Park Christmas Dinner and Dance.
December 15th, 2018.
This was the finale to our amazing fundraising year in support of our chosen charities and was held at Coworth Park, in Berkshire. More than 80 guests attended and enjoyed a champagne reception, wonderful food created by Micheline star head chef Adam Smith (including a chocolate dessert named in our honour) and entertainment by West End Star, Colin Roy. Our evening compère was the TV host and Strictly winner, Chris Hollins. The evening’s principal benefitting charity was Blue Acre Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation, and our hope was to raise enough money to provide them with a new £13,000 horse trailer. Adrian Baker, Chairman of the Millionaires Club, having learnt of their plight, generously agreed foot the bill. Furthermore.he pledged to pay a further £500 every month towards feed for the charity’s rescue herd. Another kind guest donated a further £1000 making it a £20,000 windfall for Blue Acre.
There are no words to describe the raw emotion and gratitude from Bob, Caron, Veanne and Gary who are pictured as the announcement was made by Chris Hollins, and afterwards with Adrian (centre). The auction was a huge success with 10 lots, including a WW1 equine painting by Danny Roberts a reformed inmate from Guys Marsh Prison and a champagne evening at Lucy Choi’s London Boutique for 30 lucky ladies. In total the evening raised £26,500 with Blue Acre being our major beneficiary. We are also making donations to the Household Cavalry Foundation and the Windsor and Ascot Driving Group for the Disabled. Our next major fundraising event will be our Purple Poppy Ball to launch our 2019 Purple Poppy Appeal on June 8 next year.
