Miss Great Britain to launch our Purple Poppy appeal.
We are delighted to announce that Kobi-Jean Cole, who is Miss Great Britain 2019, has agreed to spearhead our Purple Poppy Appeal at a special photocall in London on August 19.
The 23-year-old anti-bullying ambassador from Bristol ( pictured here) will launch the Appeal at the Animals in War Memorial in Hyde Park – an appropriate venue given that it is dedicated to all the animals that served and died alongside British and Allied forces in wars and campaigns throughout time – and ahead of National Purple Poppy Day which is August 23, 2019. She will wear a dramatic purple cloak made up of hundreds of knitted purple poppies, created and donated by you, our kind and generous supporters. We have extended the deadline after many of you told us that you needed a little more time to send us your poppies. Can we please have them in by Friday, August 9 to give us plenty of time to sew them together.
Send to War Horse Memorial, 18 Ascot Towers, Windsor Road, Ascot, Berkshire SL5 7LG. Every one we receive will be included in the cloak, and afterwards we will distribute them to equine and animal charities, where they will be sold to raise money for our chosen good causes.
