It is that time in the year when we demonstrate our appreciation of those who gave their lives or suffered injury, physical and mental, during bloody wars in order to preserve our freedom.

Here at The War Horse Memorial we promote the recognition of the service and sacrifice that animals gave, too. Particularly on the battlefields in World War One. The aim being to provide a legacy which will help improve the welfare of animals in need today.

So we just want to say a big thank you to all those who have supported, and continue to support our Animal Purple Poppy Fund 2024. Alongside other sales from our website shop, the funding you provide has increased. This despite the cost-of-living crisis. We are so thankful for your generous response and it will be of great benefit for horses, mules and donkeys requiring care.

Our pin badge sales have been so successful that stock is now running low. If you do find you are unable to buy, please consider our hand-knitted purple poppies instead. Of course, a donation, whether it be stand-alone, or added to a purchase, is the most cost effective way to support our cause.
