Colin our Ambassador signs record deal.

July 9th, 2019.Our Ambassador and Britain’s Got Talent winner Colin Thackery has signed his first record deal with Decca Records, becoming the oldest person in the world to do so. The 89-year-old Chelsea pensioner will be joining Andrea Bocelli, Michael Ball and Dame Vera Lynn on the label, which will be co-partnered with SyCo Entertainment – the label of Britain’s Got Talent judge and producer, Simon Cowell.‘I could not be more thrilled that Colin has signed to the same label as Dame Vera Lynn’, Simon said. ‘He is an inspiration to us all.’ Colin first joined the Royal Artillery – one of our chosen charities - at the age of 15 and lost part of his hearing after fighting in the Korea war in the 1950’s. However, he has always had a passion for singing, performing at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, where he lives, with regular singing sessions. He entered Britain’s Got Talent as part of a dare, and dedicated his performances to his wife Joan, who died in 2016. All three songs he performed on the show – Wind Beneath My Wings, We’ll Meet Again and Love Changes Everything, are set to be included on his upcoming debut album, which is due for release on August 30. Colin will also perform for the Royal Family at the annual Royal Variety Performance in November.
