Parkgate Primary School

Parkgate Primary School.

Class 6.This is Class 6 at Parkgate Primary School (pictured here with their teacher Mrs Watkins) who have been learning about the work of the poets from the First World War and wanted to know more about the role horses, mules and donkeys played, our War Horse Memorial and the purple poppy appeal. They have created the wreath which we will place at the foot of the National Animal War Memorial in Hyde Park London at 3pm on Sunday, November 11 from knitted poppies sent to us from all corners of the globe. And they wanted to sell our wristbands in school to help us support our chosen charities. We are delighted so many schools from across the UK are engaging with our project and helping us spread the message of the service and sacrifice of so many animals during the 1914-18 conflict. We have sold out of purple poppy pin badges for this year but we do have wristbands which sell for a suggested donation of £1.
